Things are a'changing

As you can see, my Baby J is no longer in his crib. Ryan dug deep into the closets upstairs to pull our the twin frame, headboard, & mattress. At first we were going to make the switch to the race car bed, but since he already had gotten the twin Spongebob bedding for his birthday, we went straight for the twin. Well, Ryan did. I didn't. I was against it. But Ryan made his point: how can we expect him to be potty trained but we won't let him get up at night and go potty cause he's in his crib. I know, makes sense, right? And guess what, last night, his 2nd night in the bed and he wakes up this morning DRY. Yep. No diaper and he was DRY. Awesome. My goal was to have him potty trained before school starts for me and mission accomplished. (Really was simple for me. He did it all with just encouragement from us. Great job Josh!)
Let's see........earlier in the week the hubby & I took the boys to the Chippewa County Fair which takes place over in Kinross (about 1hr 15 min from here.) It was pretty fun. We did not do the wrist band thing, as that would have cost $20 per kid. So we just bought some tickets and let them each play one game. Add to that 2 elephant ears for the family to share and we all left happy.
Thursday my Bear had the last of his immunizations for awhile. He got 4 of them. Ouch. Currently I am keeping an eye on his left arm cause besides the bruise from one site, he has a red and swollen area under it that has grown overnight. He isn't really complaining and has no limit in movement, so at this point I am just going to watch and see with a call to the health dept on Tuesday. When the child sat motionless and still ends up with a bad bruise, something is not quite right.
Mom & Dad are up to the Fish Boil at The Point. Curious to hear their reaction to it. Good? Bad? Aunt Barb & Uncle Dennis were planning on going as well so I'm interested in their thoughts as well.
Can't believe school is starting again for me. This is the year when things get serious and hard. I'm already nervous and losing sleep and the semester has yet to start. This morning I sewed my patch on my new white lab jacket which is required for clinicals. The rest of my weekend will hopefully be devoted to studying. How much does that suck? My last weekend and I have to spend it studying!
So what are your plans for this long weekend? Are you vacationing and squeezing in last moments of the summer? Or are you busy getting your kiddos ready for school to start?

Just another weekend here. Hounds really don't need to get ready for school- grin. Ted & I might go flying tomorrow but then again might just bum around as it is his only day off. So, today is my usual Sunday chores of grocery shopping and laundry. oh yippie.

Baby J is now Toddler J. Go Joshua! He looks so cute in his bed. Adorable. Love the Sponge Bob theme.

Keep up the hard work girl! And treat yourself to something nice once in a while for all of the hard work you do in school. You deserve it!
