A decision was made yesterday to not fill the feeders for two reasons. One being that if on the small chance that it would return, we didn't want to have another buffet for the bear to feed on. As much as I love the bears, I don't want them frequenting around--its not good for them or us. The second reason was that I didn't feel feel like going out in the cold, windy, & sometimes rainy weather yesterday to clean up the mess from the night before. Can I say that I was really glad that decision was made? Cause this morning, to my shock, there is proof that the bear CAME BACK! The 2 feeders left with thistle feed, and the hooks they were on, are toast. By looking at the feeders from the window, they are beyond repair, but once I take a walk outside I will know for sure. But again, not one of the 5 hummingbird feeders are damaged. Either this bear is just after food and not drink or he/she hasn't yet discovered the yumminess of sugar water. Later today I will have the boys head out with me to clean up the entire mess and we will then decide if we will refill any feeders.
It seems we are not alone in being visited by a bear. A friend of mine who lives in town had the bear at her house both Saturday & Sunday nights. They were not sure it was a bear until they found scat in their yard. Ooooh. I wonder if that's some sign from the bear that their yard is special? I'm jealous, my boys would think bear poop in the yard was cool. But then again, she has 4 girls so maybe the girls don't find it that neat.........
It was cold last night and we are still under a freeze advisory. Just as some trees are starting to get some leaves, too. By this rate, we will have leaves by July and they will start to fall off in September.
Brendan has another tooth coming in. This one is just like the previous one, coming in on a weird angle. The first tooth seemed to come in just fine so I'm hoping this one will do the same. He has already gone to the dentist for many fillings, so I certainly don't want another issue to arise and need a return visit. I think when the 2 big boys go back for cleanings that I will take Joshua in as well. Never too early to start, right?
Speaking of Joshua. He did something yesterday evening that I am still in shock about. Pooped in the potty. Twice. On his own with no pressure from us. He is awesome. He's been peeing in the potty when he feels like it and doing a great job at that--when he's naked. (Put a pull-up or undies on him and he just pees in them, but being a nudie-butt is key.) Here's hoping he is like Brendan when it comes to potty-training!!!!
Alright. Joshua sensed I was thinking of him and is now crawling over my lap and wanting chocolate milk.........I think I'll make him do his chocolate milk dance........it's the cutest thing ever!

I'm starting to get annoyed that you've got bears, Alida has beavers. And me?
I've got some blackbirds that drive me nuts, sparrows that won't leave my yard, and if I'm lucky I get a daily sighting of my pair of cardinals.
How come you girls are so darn lucky (or unlucky depending on how you look at it)???
