One hour of class on Friday. Then one final exam on Monday & another final exam on Wednesday. After that I am done, done, done with this semester. I made it through the semester with no tears, no breakdowns, no nervous twitches. (Oh wait, I did have that one hand twitch thing that was pretty freaky a few months ago.....) There was a determination there---I know of too many who cried this semester, too many who had anxiety attacks, mini-breakdowns, whatever you want to call them. But as for myself, I refused to let it get to me this early in my schooling. Let's leave the freak-outs for the future semesters. Until then, rock on.
My oldest son attended class with me today. A 2 hour lecture in Nursing Fundamentals. Even a 6 year old learns to watch the clock and count down the minutes left. One of the best things a Mom can hear was told to me several times today, which made me smile. "He is so well behaved!" Music to my motherly ears. Now when we are home it is a totally different matter, but all parents understand that phenomenon.
For lunch we ate at McNasty's where we met a friend of mine from Paradise for lunch. That was nice as she and I rarely see each other due to both of us having crazy busy schedules. Brendan played in the area for kids, which I like to call 'the breeding ground for sicknesses'. But since he just got over some virus, maybe he will be the one passing along, instead of bringing home. I like to share. It's only fair.
Big plans are in the works for me once the semester ends.
- Paint our bedroom.
- Help Ryan hang the curtains.
- Take a quick visit downstate to spend some time with Ryan's Mom & any other family we can squeeze in.
- Take boys for haircuts.
- Actually take Joshua for his picture to be taken.
- Have my passport photo taken so I can turn in the paperwork that has been done for over a year......
- Paint the boys' bedroom.
- Read a few dozen books that have nothing to do with anatomy, pathophysiology, pharmacology, nursing.......
- Attempt to potty train Joshua.
- Maybe take the bottle away from my baby........as a Mom, this is difficult for me to do with him as he is my baby and he so loves his bubba.
I love to make lists. Then I can look back and see what crap I didn't get done and how much time I wasted doing nothing. I'm sure you can all relate.
Off to do one of the most dreaded chores of my day: putting the boys to bed. Oh, they go to bed easy, but its the going to sleep part they don't seem to understand.
