I think I'm ready for Christmas. Today once I got the boys on the bus I pretty much locked myself in the bedroom and wrapped my little fingers off. All presents for Ryan and my folks were wrapped a few days ago, all gifts that needed to be shipped have been, and now just waiting to stuff the stockings tomorrow night. This afternoon I was able to go and enjoy part of the boys' Christmas party at school. Gifts were given to the teacher, her para pro, bus driver, secretary, and cook. This year each one got a jar of homemade strawberry freezer jam, Christmas socks, & a little thing of flavored coffee, all in a Christmas tin. Not much, but it was something to show how much we truly appreciate each of them.
Let's see........what else have we been up to? Oh--Saturday night we went to a friends house for a small Christmas party. I haven't laughed that much in a long time! And holy crap, I haven't seen that many jello shots in years.......not to mention the 'soaked' chocolate covered cherries.........throw in some Christmas trivia & other games and you can call that a good time.
For some reason right now I am itchy pretty much from head to toe. My skin is blotchy and I want to scream. I can tell you now that a Benadryl is in my very near future.
According to my cousin Becca, they are just getting slammed with the snow downstate. She now is telling me that they are calling for 9 more inches, not just the 6 they were predicting earlier. Dammit. Send it my way Becca!
My boys are getting pretty excited about Christmas. I keep telling them that tomorrow they have to get up on the metal roof and shovel the snow off so Santa will have a place to land his sleigh. They look at me like I'm crazy, but you can still see the hint of wondering in their eyes.
I'm trying to bribe my husband. I want him to get me those Benadryl so I don't have to get up. Cause in addition to being itchy, I'm also feeling lazy.
Ugh, I just remembered that I have a load of wash to put in the dryer. That wouldn't be a problem if there wasn't already a load to be folded in the dryer. Again, I'm feeling lazy so can you see my problem??
Still asking for everyone to keep the prayers coming for little Ayden Patrick. Although he is doing well, he is still having the ups & downs that preemies normally do. You really should check out Peyton's Place to see Kevin holding Ayden--its such a sweet photo.
oh, oh, oh--it seems the hubby must be sick of me itching like crazy cause he is in the bathroom getting me the pills. That gives me about 30 minutes before I pass out from them.............must type faster.
BIG NEWS...........for me! Monday I went for a vision exam and ordered new glasses! You have no idea how awesome that is for me. Last eye exam was at least 4-5 years ago, which means my glasses are that old. Which also means they are so scratched which renders them useless. Ryan also went to have his first ever eye exam done since he was a kid. We kind of figured he would need glasses since he is the only one of 9 kids who doesn't wear glasses..........the odds were against him. So yes, he did need glasses, not strong ones, but just enough to reduce the eye strain that he gets when reading. He also told me that he has an astigmatism, to which I told him, "Congratulations!"
Alrighty, the meds have been taken so I have just enough time to post this blog, get into jammies, brush the teeth, and crawl into bed before I pass out and start drooling on my pillow. But before I go, a Christmas video for you all to enjoy.............
