School is what it is. That is really all there is to say about it from me. Heavy schedule, lots of care plans, clinicals, check-offs, quizzes, exams, weekends full of reading, writing care plans and studying. So that is my life.
School for the boys seems to be going well. This new teacher does things a bit differently than Amy did, which is fine and so far good. One thing I already like about this teacher is that at week end, she sends home a paper that is basically a weekly behavior report. Aaron came home with 3 stars, one for each day he had class. Brendan, who normally is an all-star student, only came home with 1 star, yet he had 4 days of school. When I asked him why not all stars, he told me it was because he cried on those other days. That is not a surprise to me as he cries a lot over everything. Most students (his brother included) normally give in to him and he ends up getting what he wants, and I think that happened all last year at school. But this new teacher takes a different approach and I just love it! You cry? No star. Ryan and I have/had talked to Brendan numerous times about his crying at school with no success. I have high hopes that the star thing works out this problem. Sounds weird, but to Brendan, not getting stars is a big deal, so hopefully no tears and all stars for him!
To answer Mary's question, Brendan has 3 kids total in his class, 1st grade. Aaron has a large class of 7. Originally the kindergarten class was due to have 9 but we lost 2 students to other towns. The makeup for the school classes had to change due to Aaron's class being so large. Most years, K, 1st, & 2nd grades are all in one class taught by one teacher. But this year, as Kindergarten was so full of students, they have changed it. K and 1st are together. 2nd, 3rd, & 4th are together and so on. I can almost here you all laughing about how we think 7 students is a "large" class, but up here in Paradise, it is! Just think of the advantage that is compared to downstate where there is probably 30 students to one teacher.
The fall colors are starting and already a lot of trees have started to change. Our temps here have been pretty cool as of late. On the first day of school they boys could have worn shorts it was that hot. But since then, they have been wearing long-sleeved shirts and lightweight jackets.
I know this weekend is Good Old Days for Richmond. I am sure I will be hearing beer tent stories soon.............
Well, that is about all the time I should devote to this lovely blog today. There is a little quiz tomorrow that needs my attention. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
