The word on the street is that Jackie is being released from the hospital today. Good for her. It will feel good to be back at her own home and able to sleep in her own bed for sure. Notice I'm not saying she will have a good night's sleep, cause that won't happen for well, YEARS. But in all reality, when you are nursing, you are up every few hours in the beginning to feed that sweet baby.
Nicholas has decided that his baby sister is getting too much attention. To put a stop to that, he fell and needed 5 stitches yesterday! Reports are that he was running in Jackie's hospital room, tripped on his blankie, and went face first into a cabinet thing. Lots of blood, not a good scene, and the nurses sent him downstairs to the ER. My Mom said it was not fun at all and I know it had to be hard on Jackie cause she couldn't even pick up her own little boy to comfort him. Nicholas--like all children--is pretty resilient, so I am sure he'll be just fine.
Yesterday we did a lot of yard work. I used the weed whacker as Ryan cut the grass. Yard looks great. I'm a bit nervous about the ticks so we are all wearing bug spray when we go out. Mosquitoes are bad here on and off. Yesterday I saw none and this morning we were bombarded as we went out--less wind today. Speaking of ticks: does anyone know of any 'natural' ways to treat the yard for ticks? We are careful with what we do here because of the wildlife, our dogs, and the kids. But besides the yard stuff--keeping the grass cut and all that good stuff, I have not found any other 'safe' ways to prevent ticks. I hate them. They are gross.
Using the recipe Heather sent me, I made lemon bars yesterday afternoon. Holy Yumminess Batman! I am using all my control to not eat them all in one sitting. If I eat too many, I won't be able to eat dinner tonight, and I love me some tacos!
