Live from Paradise, It's Saturday Night!

So here I sit on a Saturday in front of my computer, drinking a glass of wine from the local winery, listening to my hubby play Guitar Hero in the next room. There is so much excitement here in the town of Paradise that I just can't contain myself!

Today was partly rainy and partly sunny. Made it a great afternoon for movie watching. As the kids watched the Chipmunks upstairs, Ryan & I watched Zodiac, which was pretty decent. Then after dinner we all watched The Fantastic 4: Silver Surfer. That leaves several more movies for Ryan to watch tonight and tomorrow. He is an avid movie watcher, while I normally go to bed and read.

Speaking of reading............Just finished a book 2 days ago and am almost finished with yet another one today. My current read is #6 in James Patterson's Women's Murder Club series. In the wings I have 2 other books from the library just calling my name. Unlike my sister, I can't stand to be reading more than one, or at most 2, books at one time. Why? I think it goes along the same lines as me with a bottle of shampoo--I can't stand to have 2 in the shower at the same time. I can rotate them, but I won't dare open a third bottle until I finish one of the other two. I do the same with cereal.............yes, probably a bit of OCD happening but I am alright with that. And hey, if you know me, you know of my tendencies already.

Glad to report, for those of you who haven't read, that Jen's Dad is finally home after a 10 day hospital stay. Keep sending good vibes his way though, cause there is still a long road to recovery ahead of him.

And oh my goodness, one more tidbit of awesome news to report:

Ryan received a call from his Fire Academy Instructor this evening to inform him that he passed both the written and skills portion of Fire Fighting 1 & 2!!!!

Congrats to my hard-working Husband! I am so proud of you Hun!

My folks are still enjoying themselves on vacation. They've been to Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, & Utah (and other places I can't remember right now). While in Nevada they stopped and saw Aunt Clara and Uncle Chet. They also went to the Little A'Le'Inn and saw the cameras surrounding Area 51......freaky. In Utah they went to see the Mormon Tabernacle. Of course they have seen the Grand Canyon and Mesa Verde. And I think the next stop is back to New Mexico to stay a day or two in Roswell. Yep, THAT Roswell. My hope is that when they get back home that I can do a slideshow of some of their pics.

My wine and I are now off to sit in the front room, read my book, & look/listen to the water. That's if I can hear it over GH3....................
