This morning I watched Brendan get on the bus as a kindergartner for the last time :(
One full school year has gone by. That is one full school year of peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for him. Most always with raspberry jelly with a few times with Aunt Barb's strawberry (the only strawberry Brendan likes) or the very rare grape jelly. There are probably only about 10-12 times when he didn't eat PB&J's for lunch--and that was either for the once monthly pizza or chicken strips that was hot lunch. Thinking back to the beginning of the year and my struggles to find him pants that he would wear.....he now wears his jeans no problem, but still prefers what he calls 'soft pants.' During this time he has outgrown his shoes and needed new ones, outgrown those pants I struggled to find for him to wear and needed new ones and has almost outgrown those new jeans already! I know he is ready for this year to be over and for summer to begin.
I have to clarify my post from yesterday about the dogs and the garbage. I'm sure it was not both dogs, but just our dog Trudie. There have been too many times to count when Ryan or I would come home to our house downstate to find that same mess. Trudie has some seperation anxiety issues and has a LONG history of destroying MANY things. As she has gotten older, that has stopped but at times, she likes to show us she still is pissed when we leave her alone by doing just that to the garbage. I even asked Mom if Millie had any times she did anything like that to the garbage, and I already knew she did not. So again, it was all Trudie. She and her "I'll show you for leaving me alone!" And yes, I did break down and fed them both yesterday cause I felt bad.
Talked to Jackie already this morning. She states she is feeling much better this morning, but is lacking on good sleep. Clare took to nursing right away so that is great. Jackie says she looks more like Nicholas this morning, too. Mom & Dad took Nicholas to see his baby sister yesterday but he wasn't all that interested in her. I bet he was glad to see his Mommy though!
Ryan does not have to work today. Our plans are to head to the Soo to grocery shop and run errands after Brendan gets home from his 1/2 day of school. He requested ice cream cones and strawberry ice cream be added to our shopping list. So off I go to get the other 2 boys breakfast. Have a good day.
Oh--here is a picture of 2 hummingbirds at one of our feeder's this morning. I wish the colors were better so you could see the red on the male. Maybe next time.
