I've been thinking about how quickly this summer has gone and how soon school will be starting for me and the boys. At the end of the previous semester, I had all these plans. Big plans. Plans galore. And ya know what? I don't think I have done any of those damn planned things. My biggest and the one that is weighing on my mind the most are the closets upstairs. Yes, you may remember that I had one of those closets gloriously cleaned and organized, but that has since been foiled by others I shall not name. But that isn't my big concern about the closets, its the toys. TOYS. Massive amount of toys. I don't know how it happened, but my kids have the most toys out of any kids I know. A large portion of those they almost never play with. Many can be thrown away or donated. A garage sale to rid myself of toys would be great, but who wants to deal with that? Maybe I could ebay a few of them to see if I get any money for them. Huh. But the main reason I haven't done a darn thing in that closet is that it will be a battle. I will want to throw things away, the boys will rediscover some long-lost treasure and think we need to keep all the toys. I should attempt this closet-cleaning thing soon. I really should.
Also thinking of school shopping. Yah. That should be fun. Brendan has very specific tastes in pants, which means he goes for comfort and hates jeans. Plus he is so darn skinny that its hard to find pants long enough for him that actually fit his waist. And oh yah, paying for said school clothes is another issue in itself. Luckily he doesn't really care where his clothes come from and Walmart is sounding pretty good to me.
Ooooohhhhh, almost forgot to talk about the book. I have finished (wiping away a tear) the very last Harry Potter book. sniff, sniff. I know it seems that some people didn't like the book, but I thought it was great. I do wish she would have gone into greater detail on some things and put more in the story about after, but I understand if she did that, the book would be another 500 pages long. At least I was right about one thing: that guy who everyone thought was bad never really was. I am really bummed that the series is over. At least there will more movies in the future...................
My folks are downstate for the week. While they are gone, Ryan's sister Janine and her family will be headed up here for the weekend. That means in this house there will be 4 adults and 7 kids. Wow. That's a lot of mouths to feed! I am sure we will all have a good time. I just hope the weather holds out for their time here. They (the weather gods) are saying we are due for some rain (which we need in the most desperate of ways!) so maybe if it rains only at night. Either way, the rain is needed if for nothing else to help fight that darn fire that is still burning near Newberry. (We drove in that area on Sunday and even the burned area that we can see is amazing. Just imagine it, over 18,000 acres have been charred.)
It seems our seasons are a changing here. Many trees are starting to turn, the weather is steadily getting cooler, and the winds have really picked it, making it feel like Fall already. Wonder how this winter will be. More snow than last year?? That would be great for the local economy, but not so great for my drives to and from school. (An hour drive there and an hour drive back!)
I'm off to play with my Webkinz.................huh, maybe that's the reason those darn closets aren't getting cleaned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
