This link is a good article on Mr. Clewley who is the still missing hiker in our area.
VBS is done for the summer. Thursday night was the last night, except for Sunday where they want the kids to come to service to sing the beach party songs to the congregation. So that will mean me dragging the boys & Ryan to church, which is something we, well, NEVER do except for the programs for the kids. Today is the last day for the library program. Brendan was the only one to attend again this year. I have to pick him up in about an hour and so ends all the programs for the boys for the summer.
The weather today is perfect. Around 70 degrees with a decent breeze. Yesterday was stormy and rainy......also my kind of day.
Ryan and I are trying to plan a vacation. Where to go, where to go? Many of you come HERE for vacation, so just were do we go from HERE? I want to go west to see Pictured Rocks, Marquette, and maybe make it over to the Porcupine Mountains if we are really ambitious. Ryan wants to leave the state and go somewhere more. More what, I'm not sure. I don't know if we can afford somewhere more and is going somewhere more really smart while driving with a 6, 4 (who will be 5 in less than a month), and 2 1/2 yr old???? And really, when I asked Aaron what he would like for vacation, his only response was, "A hotel with a pool!" Easily pleased that one. Now Brendan, he comes up to me and said, "I want to go to New York City." I had to ask him why to which he responded, "to see the Statue of Liberty." Wow. I like the hotel pool idea a lot more. But interestingly enough, Ryan walks in a few minutes later and decides HE wants to go to NEW YORK CITY! And before you all say that Ryan must have told Brendan to say that, he didn't. Ryan wasn't even around when Brendan said that. Me? Totally against New York for many reasons, but the primary being that I'm not crazy enough to take 3 young boys on a trip like that. My idea of going to New York would be going to see some Broadway shows and going to some awesome restaurants minus the children. Which means that I will be able to take that trip in about 15-18 years.......
If you have any thoughts on a good vacation idea, let me know.
