Pinky, Are You Pondering What I'm Pondering?

I think so, Brain, but if we get Sam Spade, we'll never have any puppies.

Just finished up making breakfast for the first shift, or as I like to call us, the early risers. The dogs and I were up before 6:30am. Once I fed the dogs (maybe I should call them the first shift!) and got the fire back to snuggly warm, Brendan came down. This was just 7am. Not long after I hear Joshua awake and calling my name and telling me that he has "poo-poo". To which I was really glad that I listened to him, because by the time I walked into the bedroom, he had his jammies off and who knows what his next plan was. Now we wait for the sleepy heads to wake............

You know those times when you get totally focused on something and its not going to go away till you do it? For me my thoughts keep running back to thermal-backed curtains. I want them for my room. (Keeps the room warm in the winter and cool in the summer!) That is one goal I have for the day--measure the window and order said curtains. Color is my biggest decision right now. I want something neutral for when we, if ever, paint our bedroom AND I plan to leave them here when we move, so something neutral would be best. I am a little disappointed in the hardware though. I can find curtains for a decent price, yet it seems the pole to hang them on will cost as much, if not more! Maybe I will just go to the woods and find a nice long stick to use. What am I thinking? This is the UP, I'll just go grab me a snowstick from the side of the road! Problem solved!

Little Bear just woke up. That just leaves my hubby still asleep. I am trying to keep the boys semi-quiet for him but that is not the easist thing to do with a 6, 4, and (almost) 2 year old. Joshua helped me hook up the N64 so that is what they are doing. And yes, my youngest son can, and does, set it up correctly. He plugs the right colored cables into their corresponding holes. I have not yet decided if he actually knows what he is doing or is it pure luck. (I'm leaning towards knowing what he is doing, cause for a little guy, he's quite the gadget guru!)

Speaking of N64, does anyone out there have extra controllers for it?? We have 2 controllers and 3 kids. See my problem? I would love 1 or 2 more controllers so 3 or 4 of us could play Mario Kart at once. And yes, I do realize that the rest of the world has the Wii, but I refuse to buy my young kids a system like that. Too young. Too expensive. Besides, we have the "weekend only" rule for the N64 and it seems to work out just fine.

There is a weather advisory for our area. 5-7 inches daytime, with another 2-5 nighttime accumulation. Sweet. I'm hoping to go snowshoeing on the ice today and gonna try to get the 2 big boys to strap on their snowshoes and go for a walk with me. Good times.

Time to stir the coals and get me some wood! (For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, that is not some sexual lingo! Take your minds out of the gutter! I am going to scoop some coals out of the woodburner and then go outside to haul in some wood!) Jeez.........

Let me look next time I'm in Richmond to see if we have any controllers out there.
