A Place to Wait out the Gales of Lake Superior

Today is a record. In the past, the most freighters I have seen in wait have been 8. Today there are 12. I can't get a photo with all 12 in one shot, but there are 6 in the shots above. The second pic also shows how much our ice has gone. With this whipping wind today, the ice chunks are banging into each other. That sounds really cool when you are out there. The Soo Locks close in 1 week so I am sure there are more freighters on their way. Its a busy parking lot out there today!

School was actually cancelled today. That is a RARE event for Whitefish Township Community School. Even after blizzard conditions, when every other school in a 100 mile radius is closed, Whitefish is open. And get this, we were the ONLY school closed in the area. It was due to the wind and power outages. (Thank goodness for that generator again!) The roads were also all ice this morning so I think that also played a part. Either way, the boys were happy to have the day off.

Jackie's ultrasound is today! She is due to call us with results this afternoon. BOY OR GIRL? Sounds like a great poll to me!! Brendan and my Dad say she is having a girl. Aaron always says boy first, but then changes his answer to girl after Brendan says girl. I am going to say it will be a boy, maybe a girl, no, a boy. AHHHH! No matter what I just can't wait to find out!

Must get moving to start dinner. I have had the chicken marinating since the morning. Yum. Fettucine Alfredo tonight for dinner. I marinate the chicken all day in (EV)Olive Oil, garlic, white pepper, salt, and cayenne. Then to the alfredo sauce and noodles I add the chicken along with the tender carrots and broccoli. Add the garlic sticks on the side. Yum again. It is one of my best meals and also probably the least healthy. But yet, I don't care. I love it. Love it better the second day. Jen inspired me to make it by her making fettucine the other night. Yummy in my Tummy and clogging of the arteries here I come!
