Detroit Sports

The Detroit Tigers beat the New York Yankees?!?!?!?! Huh? I heard that at 1am last night and said aloud, to myself since I was the only one awake, "What the fu--?" That is something I did not expect to hear. I, along with many other people, were thinking there was no way in hell that the Tigers could beat the Yankees. No chance, buh-bye Tigers. But holy crap, they did it. Wow. Wow. Wow.

I have a confession to make about my favorite Detroit sports team: The Red Wings. I have a real problem getting exctied about the team this year. HUH?!?! Where did that come from?? I LOVE hockey, LOVE the Wings. Once spent a small fortune on every round of the playoffs. But now, I just am in some sort of mourning. Yzerman is gone. Still sad about that, lame, but true. And the biggest blow to my Wings-addiction, Brendan Shanahan is gone. I just can't think of seeing him in another jersey........I hate the fact that he has gone to another team. Yes, there are still players that I like a great deal, but the gap that Yzerman and Shanahan has left really is a huge one. Give me a few weeks and I am sure I can start enjoying games again, but as for now I am still being a baby about the whole thing.

Oh--another weird thing I heard last night on Coast to Coast, (yah, it was another night where I think I suffered from insomnia)..........Art Bell's wife is pregnant. Hmmm. Insert your thoughts here...................

Nicholas is stubborn, just like his mother. He is not going to be forced to come any earlier than he wants to. I respect Jackie's decision to say enough and come home from the hospital. I firmly agree that inducing is done way too much for the wrong reasons and glad that Jackie was able to be home this weekend and relax with her husband. He will be here when he is good and damn ready!

I have to agree- the Wings will not be the same. I guess it's a blessing that I can't see all the games-maybe a couple a year unless we head up to the sports bar!
