No work for me today. Yesterday I started in MedSurg but ended up in OB around 1pm until time to go home. Census has been up for so long....this is a good thing as it means job security :)

I'm sitting here this early because I'm getting a fire going. Our furnace isn't heating so it is only blowing cold air. It has been this way for almost a week, but the warmer temps outside have made this easier, that it, until yesterday. Our weather out there is awesome. Cold, blustery, snowy....everything I love about winter. Thank goodness we have the woodburner :)

Speaking of winter, looking outside, it is hard to tell how much snow we have gotten. Much drifting has occurred and it is still blowing out there. I think we will be spending most of our day inside. That could be a good thing, because I have a lot to do in this house. I desperately need to go through each of the dressers for the boys to pull out clothes that do not fit them anymore. That is something that has needed to be done for months, but hasn't happened. I also need to do Mount Washmore--my large pile of laundry that occurs with 3 boys. And paperwork, there is always mail, bills, etc to go through. But really on days like this, I would love to just cuddle up with a good book (on my Kindle) and read my day away.

That brings me to books. I have read so many good books lately. Friends on Facebook have suggested so many and they have all been wonderful. One of the simplest joys in life is a good book. If you are needing a good book to read, I HIGHLY recommend The Help and The Book Thief. Amazing.

Well, looks like my fire has taken off and I can feel the heat already. Being that I don't work today, there is no other reason for me to be awake at 5am, so I am going to try to go back to sleep. I most likely won't be able to get back to sleep, but if I don't I will just make myself a nice cup of coffee and read. Not a bad way to start the day!
