Monday, Monday, Can't trust that day........

Our company left this morning. Sad to see them go, but glad to have things back to normal around here. Summer's are busy with visitors, which we love, but as my friend Kelley said, its like we run a B&B sometimes around here! So today I have been cleaning house. Changing and washing sheets, vacuuming the entire house, mopping floors, cleaning out the fridge, ect. My washer has pretty much been running constantly this past week so after this day's worth of loads are finished, I plan to give the washer & dryer a day off.

Vacation Bible School started yesterday afternoon. Since I am the "crafts leader", I have been getting prepared for that for a few days. Separating pieces, cutting things out, gluing things together, spray painting & hot gluing............remind me why I volunteered for this again! Just kidding, it was a lot of fun yesterday and I am sure that this week will fly by. This VBS is different than any others I've heard of, as it is in the evening (from 5pm to 8:15pm) and we provide dinner for the kiddos as well. Now before you think we are insane, remember this is a tiny town. How many kids did we have on day 1 you ask? 18. Yep. And I knew all by name except one little girl who is not from Paradise but is here visiting her grandparents. Tonight we will have a larger group of 23. And my sister-n-law Janine said she has a small church......she is only expecting 110 kids for hers!

Tomorrow also starts the library summer program. Last year I helped by bringing in snacks/drinks, but this year I must have missed the sign-up sheet cause I am responsible for nothing. How weird is that?! I'll probably send up some snacks or something anyway just cause I feel it is the least I can do for the program they provide for the kids.

Another sad story from Paradise. You can read about it here . The last thing I heard is that family had found some dog poop Saturday afternoon and heard a dog barking in the same vicinity on Saturday night. (All this was overheard by someone at the grocery store here in town who relayed it to me so I don't know how reliable this infor actually is.) And I must say that I agree with Aunt Barb's recent post (Camp Runamuk)--July pretty much has been depressing. Granted there have been great things this July, but they have been overshadowed by William's death and several other equally sad things. Hoping that this is totally it for the bad news for awhile.

Back to laundry and then I have to get ready for VBS tonight............

And I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, & comments for William's family. If anyone is interested, there is an address below in an older post to send donations for the family. I'm sure that this fund will be going to help his Mom & Dad cover the cost of his funeral and burial. Thanks so much.
