Since today is/was Wednesday, it was time for our weekly ritual of going to the Post Office, library, the dump, & stop to see the roadside veggie man. I love the roadside veggie man. This is the man I posted about a few weeks ago but this year there is a bonus--he is setting up shop once a week in Crampton's parking lot. This saves me gas money so I am able to buy even more! Ryan worked out back behind Crampton's this afternoon and said the veggie man has a steady business in town--usually 2-3 cars at a time are stopping to buy. I think that is great cause the more business he gets, the more likely he is to stay around.
After getting our mail, Mom & Dad's mail, and Aunt Barb's mail, we went to the library. I am normally really happy with our little library, but recently it has been disappointing me. I have several people email me with book suggestions and I love that, I'm always looking for a new read. But now I am not able to find those books on the shelves. It is very understandable, as many of the books are donations, but still upsetting at times. Several times I have resorted to ebay for books and then donate to the library, but that still costs me money I don't want to spend. I did however just make a good find--at the hospital gift shop in the Soo, they sell used books for cheap. They had quite a selection there. Granted they aren't all the types of books I'd want to read, but at a quick glance there were a few titles that I could grab for some easy reads. And yes, I suppose I could have our library "borrow" books from other libraries, but that in turn costs them money (I think in postage) and I hate to do that on my account. Currently I have 3 books checked out that I hope to have time to read in the next 2 weeks.
This evening I had my meeting at the church for VBS. Who'd have thunk that there was so much behind Vacation Bible School?? I seem to remember going when I was a kid and it didn't seem so 'done up' or planned to the hilt like it is now. I am the Craft Leader so goodness me, I have to pretend to be crafty with all the pre-arranged crafts I've been assigned.
It was finally a hot one today. I think it said it hit 82 late this afternoon. My 2 big boys went swimming for awhile--that makes 3 days in a row for them. Wow. I guess its finally Summer in Paradise, eh?
Well, as it is after 10pm I should go to bed. And no, my kids still aren't asleep. Stupid Gazley-non-sleeping-gene.............
