Do we need to talk about last night? I do have one complaint though: winning away is not like winning at home. And I have to admit I missed Steve Yzerman last night. And then I will always miss Brendan Shanahan. Ah hell, I'll admit it, I miss the 'old team' from years ago. But onto other hockey talk.....Did anyone else think the Pens fans were a tad bit rude? Granted Gary Bettman normally is booed when he appears on the ice, but last night seemed more than normal. Being up here I do miss the craziness that is Hockeytown. Here there are fans, but you don't have the amount of people to hype things up like you do downstate. So can someone tell me if there is tons of excitement down there?!?!
I have to explain this pic a bit. When Brendan was a few months old, the Wings won the cup. I then had Ryan hold him in front of the TV to get his picture with the cup. So last night I tried to do it again, but this time with the 2 boys who were still up watching the game. Unfortunately, as usual, my camera's batteries died and I was only able to get this one shot. It was supposed to be a practice shot for when the Wings were holding the cup, but alas, here my boys are with the Cup & the Commissioner. Maybe I'll try to find my scrapbook with the pics of Brendan as a baby, scan it in, and post it on here.
This morning I cleaned the laundry room really well. Tomorrow I plan to do a thorough house cleaning before Mom, Dad, & Nicholas arrive. Personally, I think coming home to a nice, clean house is wonderful. Each boy will be assigned a few jobs that they can do to help out. I still haven't decided what to make for dinner tomorrow though. Possibly a roast with carrots, potatoes, & (extremely yummy) vidalia onions. Yesterday I made a chicken & vegetable stir fry over brown rice. I was shocked that it turned out so good as when I stood in front of the stove to make it, I could not remember for the life of me how to do a stir fry. Really. I stood there for a good 5 minutes and was thinking "what the hell is wrong with me?" Eventually my head came out of my ass so I could start cooking...........
Now that I am off of school, besides blogging much more, I am able to read books for enjoyment again. I've read several already, most notably Plum Lucky by Janet Evanovich. I'm sorry, but I don't enjoy the novel-between-the-novels as much. But I am counting down for #14 which is out in just a few short weeks! Currently I am reading The Shelters of Stone, which is the 5th book in the Earth's Children Series. I'm on page 401 of the 748 pages. Each of these books are huge but so worth it. There is one more book to be written and that is supposed to close out the series. The copy that I have I bought off of ebay and will be donating it to our library when I am done since they only have the 1st four books and not this one.
Laundry is calling my name. Then I have to start my treat for the boys tonight--mini graham cracker pie crusts filled with vanilla pudding and topped with strawberries and kiwi. I've been secretly snacking on the strawberries and they are sweet, sweet, sweet!
