The scantron fairy is a bitch. Study groups, reading all my chapters, doing every question in the chapters, study guides, SI session, 250-300 note cards gets me an 82% on my pharm exam. A 90% on exam 1 and an 82% on exam 2 gives me a midterm grade of 86%. I guess I should be happy with an 86% because after all, this is pharmacology. Yet, I am upset that with all that work I put into it, I am not getting the grades to show it.
Now onto the dentist appointment update........it went fantastic! Brendan went back all by himself and was perfect. I peeked in on him and he was doing great. When Aaron was called, he and I walked back together. The dentist herself (not a hygenist) spent the entire time with him. She explained everything start to finish and really put Aaron at ease. Not one problem. She is SO worth the 90 minute drive it takes to get there. I can not tell you how pleased I was with the entire office staff. As for Brendan's teeth, there are many issues. The first is that yes, he will have to have one front tooth pulled to make room for his permanent tooth. Also at that visit, they will take care of 2 or 3 of his SIX cavities. Yep, you read that right. 6 cavities. I almost cried when I heard that. Seriously cried. Brendan has been getting his teeth brushed since they first grew in when he was 4 MONTHS OLD! He brushes his own teeth twice a day and does a pretty good job for a 6 year old. The first thing the dentist asked is if he was a "snacker." She asked if he grazed all day long, to which my answer was YES. He eats smaller portions and is constantly snacking. I tried to tell her that he is my "healthy eater" and I just didn't understand this at all. Then the explanation was given about the acid staying in the mouth for 20 minutes, he snacks soon after, the acid comes back, and the teeth have no time to recoup. She knew he was a frequent snacker by the location of the cavities. Ugh. I swear, after I heard 6 cavities, for the next few minutes all I heard was, "whah, whah, whah" just like Charlie Brown's teacher..............
In another bit of news, I finally got a haircut. Not the normal trim either. Its all gone. You see, I took a picture of the hair I wanted and walked out with no hair and definitely not looking anywhere close to the picture I took in. And no, I am not deluded enough to think I could get my hair to do that exact thing, but something close would have been cool. How short? An inch below my ears and lots of layers!!! Do I hate it? I don't actually think so. And if I decide that I do, oh well, my hair grows fast enough. Maybe later I can shower and play with it a bit to see if I can get it to do anything cool.
Joshie is still sick. The past 2 nights I have been up in the night with him for several hours each night. Last night I got up at 12:10am, he then threw up all over me, and then I put him back down to sleep at 3am. I flipped thru the channels to find something for kids to watch, but found nothing. At any other time, you can find Spongebob on, yet when I wanted it on at 1:30am, not on. I did sleep in until 8am this morning so that will help me function today. Mom and Dad had Brendan and Aaron watch TV in their bedroom so I could sleep in! Thanks Mom and Dad!
I must order Joshie's birthday cake. Other than that, I think I am set for his 2nd birthday. I finished my shopping on Friday. It is so fun to talk to him about his birthday. It goes a little something like this:
Your birthday is soon!
Yah!
What kind of party do you want"
SPONGEBOB! Then he asks you, "Boons?" (That is balloons in Joshie-speak.)
Do You want balloons?
NO! (as he shakes his head.)
He has a phobia of balloons, hence his concern about there being balloons. To fix that problem, I have bought a string of Spongebob lights to hang instead. I know to some it seems silly how excited I am about his party. But this is his first "real" party. Jackie, Jeff, & Nicholas will be here so it should be a lot of fun.
Okay, again this has distracted me from homework. I shall go make lunch for my boys and then back to my work.
