Mardi Gras De Snow

There is nothing like sitting around the dinner table, enjoying a nice meal, while looking outside to see the beautiful lake frozen and covered in a thick blanket of snow. Then looking to your left to watch a snowmobiler relieving himself. Priceless.

A couple things that made me chuckle these past 2 days:
Yesterday I was saying to some friends about how I have several errands to run after class and I didn't feel like making all those stops and getting in and out of the cold so many times. To which a classmate replied, "Its really not that bad outside you guys. Its actually pretty warm today." I got outside to walk to my car and my friend says, "Wow. She was right, it is warm this afternoon."...................... It was 15 degrees.

To accentuate that we here in the north think 15 is warm: today was so warm that we didn't button up our coats or wear gloves. All of us (my classmates and I) were saying how it was such a warm and beautiful day......................It was 25 degrees.

And my last little chuckle for the day came from Brendan after dinner. Ryan made chicken legs for dinner and I finished up with the sides after he left for some work at "the barn." After we ate dinner, without Ryan, I said, "I can't believe not one of you boys ate the chicken that your Daddy made!" To which Brendan asks me, "Did YOU?"

Anyway..........
This is the big weekend in Paradise. The Mardi Gras De Snow!! Tonight I am hoping to take the boys to town to watch the Candlelight Parade. Tomorrow we may go to the breakfast put on by Whitefish EMS. I think those will be the only festivities that we will be attending this year. By just the amount of sleds we have seen already this afternoon/evening, I think town will be busy. I've turned on the tree on the beach already!!

Mom and Dad will return home on Saturday morning. The boys can't wait till they get here.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!
