I emptied some ashes from the wood burner this morning. I just brought in loads of wood, so along with what Mom brought in yesterday before she left, we should be set. The big snow never came yesterday, at least not the whole 5-9" they predicted. I ended up missing class and heard from a friend last night that they got 4" in the 1.5 hours they were in patho, so now I don't feel so bad about missing. We are still under a blowing snow advisory so you never know what will happen.
Last night when it was time to pick the boys up from Kids Klub, a few of us parents were discussing the upcoming winter. It was the maority's feeling that this winter won't be like last years, which was terribly MILD with little snow but really cold. A large part of me says YES! bring it on! Then the student in me is worried and wondering how in the world will I get to class this next semester. It looks like it is time for me to pack my winter case to keep in the van for those times I get stranded in the Soo.
There is a freighter anchored in the bay. Only 47 days until the Soo Locks are closed for the winter (1/15/08), so the traffic should increase in order to beat the closure.
