I'm taking some time to do a quick update. Right now the baby is napping and I have Aaron very happy with some cheese and crackers. (Joshua dislikes cheese, so Aaron makes up for it by loving cheese and would eat it all day, every day, if given the chance.) Brendan is at the library for the Summer Reading Program. I did have the choice to send Aaron or not, but the ages are 5 and up, and he is only 3. Granted he will be 4 next month, but it was decided that it will give Brendan an opportunity to socialize without his brother around AND it gives Aaron some time to be away from Brendan. Now I should tell you that the entire time Brendan is gone, Aaron worries about him, asks when Brendan will be home, and tells me over and over how much he misses Brendan. (But you have to hear him say it, he says is like this: Mom, I really miss Bwendan!) This year with Brendan going into school and Aaron will be in preschool, it is going to be tough on Aaron to have Brendan seperated from him so much. Brendan does fine on his own, but for Aaron, he is a bit shy and takes longer to warm up.
I'm taking this time to spend some quality time with just Aaron. We drop off Brendan, put Josh down for his nap, and then its just us. We spend the time doing puzzles (one of Aaron's favorite activities), reading books, and having snacks. Today it was our turn to take snacks to the library (cheese and crackers), so that is what snack we are having today.
Today we will go over to see the kids at Aunt Barb's place. Today is supposed to be our last warm day for awhile, so we plan to swim and play on the jetski.
Ryan and I have been taking the boys to the playground in the evenings. (Trying to tire our children out because they seem to never be tired enough to sleep at night!) This last time there, I decided to swing on the swing with Josh on my lap. It was fun, but he wanted down after about 1 minute. Later, while Ryan had all 3 boys occupied, I started to swing on my own. When was the last time you did that???? It is so much fun! Once on the swings, you really do feel like a kid again, trying to swing higher and higher. It puts such a smile on your face. And these are the old fashioned type swings. Ya knows the ones, chainlink with NO plastic covering, large metal frames, the UN-child-safe swings...........the ones we grew up with. Next time you get a chance, take a swing, you'll love it!
Aaron is done with his snack, so off to do some puzzles!
