A Weekend of fishing

Brendan caught his first fish!
Ryan took the boys fishing in the Black Creek (which runs right next dooor to us). It took only minues for Brendan to say that he thought he had a fish, and he reeled this baby up all on his own! Can't you tell how excited he is by this picture??

Aaron and his first catch ever!
Aaron caught this whopper a few minutes after Brendan caught his. Ryan, Dad, and the boys continued to reel 'em in, but nothing worth keeping. Besides, the boys ONLY wanted to practice catch and release. (It was either that or they wanted to keep them as pets!)

Overall, it was a pretty productive fishing weekend. Ryan and Dad actually caught some fish on the Taquamenon River off the boat (as opposed to the crayfish and clams that we usually catch). Ryan caught his first Pike, a 16" one that he had to throw back due to it being too small to legally keep. Dad caught a couple good-sized perch and several he had to throw back. Pretty neat. The boys had a great time fishing. I think this is going to be a weekend thing for us, as Brendan and Aaron had a lot of fun.
