Mike Rowe Mania

Who doesn't love Mike Rowe? Who is Mike Rowe you ask? First off, shame on you for not knowing who he is. Secondly, he is the host of Dirty Jobs and also the voice of many other shows, such as Deadliest Catch and Myth Busters. Okay, why talk of Mike Rowe?? (Besides that fact that, come on, he's MIKE ROWE!) Well, recently he and the crew of Dirty Jobs came to Northern Michigan to do a show about the Mighty Mac. Cool, eh? It happened to be the weekend that Jackie and Jeff were up. Now of course they tell the story much better than I, but they drove the bridge a couple times just so they could see him and then Jeff hangs out the window and screams something to Mike. Let me tell you, I was jealous. BUT, we girls had a plan........the following day we (Mom, me, Jackie, and Alida. And we also squished 3 car seats in the van with us to take Miranda, Joshua, and Nicholas along) decided we wanted to "shop" in Mackinaw City. While crossing the bridge in the southern direction, we did see them taping the segment. (ooh yah, we saw Mike Rowe in the bridge gear!) That was cool enough, but what happened on the way back beats all.
We shopped and were on our way back and it became apparent that the taping had JUST ended. Bummer. Low and behold, I look to my right into the Ford truck (getting the connection that I thought of?? Ya know, Mike Rowe is now the handsome face of Ford, not to mention the voice of the newest commercials.) So here I say, "Um, guys, I think that is him right next to us!" Sure as shit it was. Again, how cool is that! What happened next will be with me forever.........Jackie pretty much hits the brakes so we are riding right next to him in the Ford truck. She starts waving and giving him the thumbs up. At this point, I am sitting in the back just hoping Jackie doesn't drive us and Mike off the bridge. Then Jackie is blowing kisses to him. He smiles and waves! Now, I know that in his head he's thinking, "Holy Shit, its that van from yesterday that was stalking me and now she may drive me off the bridge!" We drove along side of him for over half the span of the bridge. I know you are all wondering if we followed him to the Bridge Authority, but no, we didn't. (Although I think I remember Jackie asking if we should and get his autograph for the boys.)
Also while he was here taping the segment of the bridge, he did a segment on Mackinac Island, which should air the same time as the bridge segmant.
The commercials for the new season of Dirty Jobs have started to run on The Discovery Channel already, showing Mike Rowe on the bridge.
